Definitely looking forward to this fight after watching the episodes of TUF 12

A Tweet In The Life Of Felice Herrig

For those that don’t know who Felice Herrig is, she’s one of the up and coming female MMA fighters in the US. She’s on a two fight win streak and is always guranteed to bring excitement to her fights. However, I didn’t find out about Felice by scowering youtube for MMA fighters or looking through forums. I found Felice by someone (I can’t remember their name for the life of me), tweeting that she was an incredibly funny lady. As a man who prides himself on his humour (I have a stand-up routine, that I’ve only performed once…in front of a mirror, by myself) I thought I’d give her a shot. I certainly wasn’t disappointed. Felice has some of the funniest posts I’ve ever read. I think if she had the time, she could genuinely become a stand-up comedian. Here are some of her brilliant quotables.

“I’m not known for my Class…I’m known for my Crass…..and my Ass!!!!”

“I’m sure my booty will make many TMZ appearances”

“After I win my fight my dad wants me announce in the cage that ” I am the Weiner” yes dad, that’s exactly what I was going to say”

“Its time to make a green juice and hit the gym for cardio and sauna.. And as always every song on my ipod will remind me of food!”

“Its not the size of the lilbulldog in the fight, its the size of the fight in the lil bulldog.” Mark Twain revised by Felice Herrig”

“That’s because I’m a musical gangsta lil mamma navidad in da house * did some1 say pantsoffdanceoffparty?”

“The bad thing abut food is, you gotta keep buying it!…and bathing too…u gotta keep doing that”

“If u think a females bitchy around her period….you’ve never been around a female during fight week!”

“Wow! A lot of filthy perverts on twitter. My booty shot has been viewed 136 times already”

We will be doing constant updates with Felice from now on…as long as she continues to give out the gems!

Potential Coaches For Next Seasons TUF

With TUF 12 coming to an end this week, the question in the back of everyones mind is “Who are going to be new coaches for TUF13?” There hasn’t been much information regarding who is going to be on the show or whose going to be coaching, but here are MMA UK’s picks if we had a say in the matter.

Urijah Faber & Miguel Torres

With the introduction of the Bantamweights and Featherweights to the UFC, this would be a great way to introduce to the new MMA world some of the greatest MMA fighters to grace the cage. A lot of UK based MMA fans would have never seen WEC and may not know who Urijah Faber or Miguel Torres are and that’s a shame. This would be a great way to introduce these two fantastic fighters to a new audience and showcase their skills and accomplishments to those who never saw them fight in the WEC. If Torres can get past Banuelos, then these two could definitely be the next coaches on the show.

Jon Fitch & BJ Penn

With their upcoming fight in Australia announced at the last UFC event, this would be a great way to promote these two fighters. It’s interesting that Fitch was a guest coach on this seasons TUF and has recently said that he’d love to be a coach on the show and Penn has already coached on the show, so he knows how the show works and what needs to be done. It could also help cause some animosity between the two fighters as neither of them have any particular issues with each other.

The winner of Frankie Edgar & Gray Maynard Vs The winner of Ben Henderson Vs Anthony Pettis

For those that don’t know already, the winner of the Ben Henderson/Anthony Pettis fight is going to take on the winner of the Frankie Edgar/Graymaynard fight.  Any of these four fighters would make great coaches on the show. Edgar’s ever evovling skills and work ethic would be a fantastic thing for fighters to learn from, whilst Ben Henderson’s ground skills are certainly something any rookie fighter could get learn from. However, what I think would make great TV and also a great experience for the fighters on the show would be Gray Maynard and Anthony Pettis coaching. I’m not sure if many people heard Maynard onf the TJ De Sanctis MMA Radio Show after his win against Kenny Florian, but he exuded the sort of swagger that I didn’t know he had. We always knew he was confident, but he showed it in such a way that made me think that if they gave this guy some screen time and he exhbited that sort of persona, then the UFC have a star in the making.

MMA fans and some non-MMA fans are already emotionally invested in Anthony Pettis after his time on “World Of Jenks”. He gained a tremendous amount of fans from the show and by giving him even more screen time, coupled with the fact that he has fantastic coaches and a very unique and watchable style of fight, Pettis would be a fantastic choice for a coach on the show.

Forrest Griffin & Rich Franklin

Is it too late for this to happen? I don’t know…I hope not. These two would be awesome as coaches. We’ve already seen Forrest dismantle Rampage Jackson’s crew of misfits when they were on TUF with each other. I don’t think the same would happen if Franklin was a c0ach on the show. It would be interesting to see these two veterens of the sport have a battle of the minds TUF and have that coincide with that in the cage.

Fight Music with one of the UK’s Top Female MMA Prospects, Michelle Tyler

On December 4th, UCMMA 17 has its first female MMA bout. Two incredibly talented fighters are going to step into the cage and battle it out to see who is the queen of UCMMA. One of those fighters is Michelle Tyler. Fighting out of London Shootfighter, Tyler is a talented Muay Thai specialist and certainly isn’t a joke when it comes to the ground game. MMA UK found out her top work out tunes.

Fall Out Boy- Beat It

Beastie Boys – Sabotage

Eminem – Lose Yourself

Dizzee Rascal – Fix Up, Look Sharp

Mr L – Back To Your Roots

Prodigy – Death Of The Prodigy Dancers

Rage Against The Machine – Know Your Enemy

Marilyn Manson – Beautiful People

EZ Rollers – Tough At The Top

Lady Sovereign – Public Warning

Fighter Of The Week – Miguel Torres

Here’s to the little guys! Thank god the UFC has merged with the WEC, because now I don’t have to explore the internet to see the likes of Jose Aldo, Shane Roller and Chang Jung Sungs. However, for those that don’t know, one of the greatest MMA fighters to grace the sport is Miguel Torres. This dudes Jiu Jitsu is sick and his record is pretty amazing too.

My favourite thing about Torres is not his fighting skills or his fantastic mullet. It’s his twitter. If you don’t have twitter, I advise you to get it just to read his amazing quotes.

What We Learn’t From UFC 123

Edson Barbosa is a fan of Jose Aldo

I hope that you all saw this preliminary fight as this Edson Barbosa kid as his striking looked really impressive. Besides from the fact his surname reminds me of Pirates Of The Caribbean, he was certainly impressive in his UFC debut. I felt sort for his opponent as he probably had no idea what he was getting himself into facing this guy. If Charles Olivera can’t get past Jim Miller, then I’d love to see these two Brazilians scrap.

If you can back up your cocky attitude, then continue to be cocky

When Brian Foster stepped into the cage at UFC 123, he looked pretty cocky for a guy whose knee got dismantled by Chris Lytle. However, he had every reason to as he put a old school beating on Matt Brown. I feel kind of sorry for Brown as his nickname is “The Immortal”, but he seems to be far from it. He got ripped up by Chris Lytle and was less impressive against a lesser opponent.

Maiquel Falcão “This the Ultimate Fighting Championship, not the Ultimate Staring Championship

Who the hell is Maiquel Falcão? Well, I know now and for two rounds, he showed how much of a bad ass he was. Gerald Harris is no joke and although he wasn’t very impressive during the bout, he showed how tough he was. This Falcão dude though seems to be the real deal – maybe a bit crazy, but definitely talented. He needs to remember that it’s about finishing his opponents and not playing it safe. You let Chute Box down!

“Hey Mr Penn, you’ve been away for awhile. It’s good to have you back”

As I sat with some of my crew as we geared up for the BJ Penn fight, I took a look at BJ as he entered into the arena. I don’t know why, and I’m sure I’m not the only one, but I can tell if BJ is going to win by just looking him in the eyes. My crew were convinced that Matt Hughes was going to put a beating down on Penn, but I felt that BJ was just “on”.

I hate to say I told you so…

Rampage Jackson brings it back to the Pride Days…sort of…

Personally, I had the win for Machida, but it was a close fight. I saw glimpses of the old school Rampage Jackson and when he nearly hit the slam on Machida I nearly had a heart attack ( or that might be possibly because I eat too much pizza, but I digress). I’ll give Rampage his dues, it was a tough fight and he didn’t back down or get to frustrated with his inabiliy to get to the always elusive Machida. Kudo’s Quinton, kudo’s.
