Fights We Want To See In 2011: Featherweights

Jose Aldo Vs Josh Grispi

Due to the injury of Aldo, we won’t get to see this fight on January 1st 2011, but with the UFC announcing a card for Brazil this week, I don’t see why we couldn’t see this fight next year. Betting against Aldo is pretty much unheard of as he’s been dominant in every fight in the WEC. but Grispi isn’t a joke. Can Grispi knock the king off of his throne? I don’t know, but I’d like to see him try.

Chang Sung Jung Vs Clay Guida

I know that Guida fights in the lightweight divison, but lets be serious, dropping to 145 wouldn’t be an issue for him. With the frenetic pace that Guida keeps, plus the fact that trying to knock out Sung Jung is almost impossible (emphasis on the almost), this would definitely be a contender for fight of the year, if it happened.

Jose Aldo Vs Frankie Edgar

I don’t care if it’s at 145 pounds or 155 pounds, this would be an absolutely fantastic fight. The worlds best lightweight vs arguably the pound for pound best fighter on the planet? Get out of here, it sounds fantastic. Both fighters are at the top of their game and it would be a fight that the fans would love to see. It would either be another scalp for Jose Aldo or Frankie Edgar would be continue to be a world beater of a fighter.

Manny Gamburyan Vs Mike Brown

They’ve both been beaten by Aldo, they’ve both got a point to prove and both of them are looking for the knockout. Sounds like a recipe for a great match between two top knotch competitors.

Nam Phan Vs Leonard Garcia

This has re-match plastered all over it. Nam Phan was robbed by Leonard Garcia in their first fight and the interest for the re-match would be pretty big. Let’s hope they’ve got better officials by then…

Ronnie Mann Vs Mike Brown

Ronnie Mann is the next UK fighter to make a big name for himself on the big stage and I think a fight between him and Mike Brown would be fantastic. Both have great attitudes towards the fight, will look to finish and also put on a great performance for the fans.
