UFC: Fight For The Troops 2 Predictions

Cole Miller Vs Matt Wiman

The opening bout of this UFC event is a great way to start the show. Both fighters are the type that are looking for the finish and both are exciting and well rounded. Miller looked fantastic in his last bout against TUF 9 winner, Ross Pearson, whilst Wiman had a controversial win over Mac Danzig. Both fighters are similar, but I’ve got my money on Miller winning this fight as he’s looked a lot better in the his last few bouts

Pat Barry Vs Joey Beltran

Another potentially great fight. These two heavyweights usually leave everything in the cage and are always going for the knockout. It’s a fight between a striker with sniper esque striking (Barry) versus a brawler who throws wild punches (Beltran). Barry has to careful though, as Beltran is a tough partner and can certainly take his share of shots. However, I feel that Barry has been pissed off by the people who have doubted him after his loss to Cro Cop and now wants to prove everyone right. I’ve got Barry for the win here.

Mark Hominick Vs George Roop

This is Mark Hominick’s big chance. If he wins this, he faces the fighter that most people consider to be the p4p fighter in the world, Jose Aldo. Hominick has looked fantastic recently and looks as if he deserves to be the next man up, to face Jose Aldo. Roop looked impressive, knocking out the Korean Zombie in his last bout, but I have Hominick for the win in this bout.

Matt Mitrione Vs Tim Hague

Mitrione has looked like a savage in his last bouts, adding new techniques to his game all the time. Hague is returning to UFC after winning a couple of fights outside of the organization. It’s going to be a tough fight, however I’ve got Mitrione as the winner for this a he continues his progression into a well-rounded MMA fighter.

Evan Dunham Vs Melvin Guillard

The main event for the UFC: Fight For The Troops takes a look at some more top contenders of the lightweight division. Both fighters had a good 2010 and are looking to get a chance at the lightweight title. They’re both dynamic, good strikers, good wrestlers and have decent ground game. I think the main advantage goes to Evan Dunham, as his submission game is very dangerous and he always looks to lock in some sort of choke (ask Sean Sherk). Usually Guillard’s athleticism that helps him out during his fights, but I think Dunham will be able to counter that with his tecnique. I’ve got Dunham for the win.
